A PokeSurvivor move evolves when it reaches level 5, you have taken its required stat card during the same run, and you select the golden evolution card. Buying a permanent upgrade in the menu does not replace that run card.

How to evolve moves in PokeSurvivor
- Learn the base move, or start with it as your partner's first move.
- Choose its upgrade cards until the move reaches level 5.
- Take the matching stat card shown below at least once in this run. It can be taken before or after maxing the move.
- Level up again and choose the golden card showing the base move and evolved name.
For example, Ember → Fire Blast requires Power; Bubble → Surf requires Sprint. Power taken earlier still counts when Ember later reaches level 5. Evolution changes the move's name and attack properties; it does not evolve your partner into another Pokémon species.
The developer's move page lists the conditions. The current level-up selection code confirms the golden-card step.
All 59 PokeSurvivor move evolutions
Names and cards below were checked against the developer's English table and the move definitions for build dc3ae9bbfb. All 59 evolvable moves require level 5. A card's requirement is specific to the move, not just its type.
On small screens, scroll the table sideways to see every column.

What the required cards do
| Card | Effect in this run |
|---|---|
| Power | Raises damage with all moves |
| Vigor | Increases maximum health and restores the added health |
| Sprint | Raises movement speed |
| Reflexes | Reduces move cooldowns |
| Armor | Reduces incoming damage, up to the game's cap |
| Synthesis | Adds health regeneration |
| Magnet | Increases experience pickup radius |
Taking one copy satisfies an evolution's card requirement. Additional copies can change the stat, but the evolution check only needs that card to have been taken during the run. The condition check records this separately from permanent upgrades.
Five moves do not evolve
Swords Dance, Agility, Harden, Aqua Ring, and Dragon Dance are Buff moves. They can be upgraded, but they have no evolution in the reviewed table. A level-5 Buff without a golden evolution card is expected behavior.
Why a PokeSurvivor evolution card is missing
| Missing condition or current state | Your next choice |
|---|---|
| The move is below level 5 | Choose more upgrades for that move |
| You took a different stat card | Match the exact card in the table; Ember needs Power, not any Fire-related upgrade |
| You only purchased a menu upgrade | Take the required level-up stat card inside this run |
| The move is one of the five Buffs | Choose a damaging move with an evolution if you want an evolution card |
| Several moves are ready | Resolve the offered evolution and check subsequent level-ups for the others |
| The move already evolved | It has no second evolution in this table |
When an evolution is ready, the reviewed card-selection code includes the first ready evolution in the next offer. It does not promise that several ready evolutions all appear together. If a different build behaves differently, check the developer's news before assuming the table has remained unchanged.
Evolution and Bonds can work together
Evolution upgrades an individual attack. A Bond puts several learned attacks in one active slot. A Bond does not supply Power, Sprint, or another evolution card, and bonding does not remove the level-5 requirement. Linked moves still remain individual learned moves for level-up choices.
