PokeSurvivor beginner help

Choose a partner, use desktop or mobile controls, and check which PokeSurvivor progress is saved.

How do I start a run?

Open the game, choose Guest or a game-provider account, and review the partner suggested by the personality questions. You can choose another starter. Start from the game menu, keep moving, and collect experience while your active attack fires automatically.

How do I move and switch attacks?

On desktop, move with WASD or the arrow keys, switch slots with 1–4 or Q/E, and pause with Esc. On a phone or tablet, use landscape orientation, drag in the game area to move, and tap a move icon to switch. Focus the game before using keyboard controls.

Is guest progress saved?

Guest progress is temporary and is not persistently saved in the reviewed build. Do not rely on it surviving a refresh or closed tab. For cloud saves, use an account on the developer's website. This site does not hold your game account or restore guest saves.

Do permanent upgrades apply to every partner?

No. Menu upgrades bought with coins belong to the Pokémon you upgrade. They do not strengthen all partners. These purchases are also separate from stat cards chosen during a run, including the cards required for move evolution.

Permanent Pokémon upgrades

PokeSurvivor move evolutions and Bonds

Check the cards needed for PokeSurvivor move evolutions and how Bonds link learned moves into one active slot.

What does a move need to evolve?

Reach level 5, take the move's required stat card in the same run, then select its golden evolution card. You can take the stat card before maxing the move. Ember needs Power and becomes Fire Blast. A permanent menu upgrade does not replace the run card.

Move evolution requirements

Which moves have no evolution?

Swords Dance, Agility, Harden, Aqua Ring, and Dragon Dance are Buff moves without an evolution in this build. They can still be upgraded. A level-5 Buff without a golden evolution choice is expected behavior.

Buff moves without evolutions

How do I use a Bond?

Win a Rift, return to the map, and choose two independent learned moves to make the first pair. Later Bonds add an independent move to an unfinished group. Each group holds at most four moves in one active slot; joining moves frees another slot.

Bond groups and linked moves

Why did I earn a Bond but get no choice?

You need two independent moves for a first pair, or an independent move to expand an unfinished group. If no valid choice exists, the Bond stays unused while you learn another move. The offer also waits while you are in the arena, down, paused, or choosing a card or item.

Unused Bonds and missing choices

PokeSurvivor Rifts and rewards

Check PokeSurvivor Rift spawn conditions, portal and arena deadlines, and the rewards for defeating a legendary.

Why has no Rift appeared after 2.5 minutes?

Spawn checks become eligible after 75 seconds and run every 30 seconds, with failed-check chances rising from 20% to 100%. A living Boss skips a check; an existing portal, arena time, or failed portal placement can delay another Rift. The announcement is not an unconditional timer guarantee.

Rift spawn rules

How long do I have to enter and finish a Rift?

The portal stays open for 45 seconds. Move into it before it expires. Inside, the legendary arena has a 120-second deadline. In co-op, the group enters together. A timeout ends the arena without its victory reward.

Rift portal and arena timers

Does every Rift win give a ×10 ticket?

No. In this build, defeating the legendary drops three single tickets and has a 50% chance to drop one ×10 ticket. Each Rift victory also gives a Bond for the current run. A win without a ×10 ticket is consistent with these rules.

Legendary rewards and tickets

Does losing a Rift end my run?

The arena sends you back to the map and the run continues. A defeated local partner is revived on return. Losing or timing out does not award the victory Bond; an earlier unused Bond can still be offered when you return and have a valid choice.
